Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Price and Availability
It was announced officially on 19 October 2021 and was available to pre-order on the same day. In addition to the United States, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can also be purchased in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and Taiwan.
Design
A black camera bump covers the entire length of the phones’ backs, giving them a two-tone design. Two different colors are visible on the back of these phones. You can identify the other phones from the area above the camera strap. Google Pixel 6 Pro has the blankest space above the camera bar. Over the years, Google has generally chosen a safe design for Pixels. The Pixel 6 series, however, is a lot more striking and modern than its predecessor.
It is a phone with an industrial design and rounded corners. Both phones have Gorilla Glass Victus on display, and only the Pro has it on the back. The Pixel 6 standard comes with Gorilla Glass 6. Most Android phones have a similar design on the front. Bezels on the Pixel 6 are slightly thicker all around. In addition, the Pixel 6’s edges are flat. Google chose a curved display integrated into the side of the frame on the Pixel 6 Pro, which results in a smaller bezel. In addition to in-display fingerprint scanners, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro also come with rear cameras instead of rear-mounted ones.
Display
The OLED panel will have excellent color reproduction and viewing angles due to its technology. We wish Google didn’t limit the non-Pro model to 90Hz as some other manufacturers offer 120Hz refresh rates around this price point. Pixel 6 Pro’s 6.67-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen has a curved design. As it is a curved panel, it has minimal bezels on the sides. The large screen makes it quite large. Due to the LTPO display used, you can choose from 10Hz up to 120Hz depending on what you want to see on the net. The Pixel 5’s resolution has also been upgraded from FHD+ to QHD+, giving it an authentic flagship feel.

SoC, RAM, and Storage
The Pixel 6 series uses Google’s own Tensor SoC, one of the most significant changes this year. As Google repeatedly mentioned in its launch presentation, smartphone chipsets couldn’t handle Google’s complex AI and ML algorithms. The Pixel 6 series was therefore designed with its chip. Google can run several Machine Learning algorithms on a device using Tensor without compromising the device’s performance.
Compared with the Pixel 5, which took advantage of a Snapdragon 765 5G chipset, Tensor is 80% faster. A GPU integrated into the Pixel 5 with 20 cores should be 370% more quickly than the Pixel 5’s graphics. Due to how Apple optimizes its software to run on its hardware. The Pixel 6 series should also benefit from similar optimizations. The Tensor chip also supports 5G. Both 128GB and 256GB storage options are available on the Pixel 6. All of the variants use UFS 3.1 storage.
Cameras and Camera Features
Cameras have long dominated Pixel’s lineup. A lot of people decide to buy Pixel phones because of their camera capability. And the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have only gotten better in that respect. The results from Google’s software and algorithmic photography used to be remarkable up until now. Since the first Pixel, all the phones in the series have had a 12MP sensor, which came in a far second to other brands that have been using large sensors with big numbers for some time.
Thanks to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, this has changed. The primary camera is a 50MP Samsung GN1, and the secondary camera is a 12MP Sony IMX 386. The two cameras from the Pixel 6 include the 48MP Sony IMX 586 telephoto lens. The new hardware should produce some great images when combined with Google’s software magic. Until we have the phones in our hands, we can’t comment on that. The Pixel 6 has an 8 MP selfie camera, while the Pixel 6 Pro has an 11.1 MP sensor.
Battery and Charging
There is a 4,600mAh battery in the Pixel 6, which is quite extensive given that it isn’t a huge device. As a result of software optimizations, the Pixel 6 should have excellent battery life. Google’s silicon should also allow for better battery optimization versus another company’s SoC. Moreover, considering the size of the phone, the 4,600mAh battery is quite large. Fast wireless charging is also available at 21W. The Pixel Stand supports fast wireless charging, and Google will sell it later this year. The Pixel 6 series does not have a wired charger inside the box, so you will have to purchase it separately.
